The drill starts with a pass from the defender and, after the control, the attacker aims to dribble into either gate goal. The defender tries to win the ball and dribble into the opposite gate goal. A second phase can be added to the drill, where once the first situation has ended, the coach adds a new ball and the attacker has to start moving with their back to the goals.
Attacker: - Head up before the touch — which gate is open? - Feint before you beat an opponent, with the ball protected behind the body - Change of tempo: slow down–accelerate to break the defender’s balance - Decide quickly: beat the opponent 1v1 or change direction to the other gate Defender: - Slow down 1–2 metres away, low stance, low centre of gravity - Side steps, do not cross your feet - After winning the ball, head up immediately and first touch forwards towards the opposite gate
