Counter-Pressing Game — Football Drill

Two teams play a possession game in a restricted area. When a team loses the ball, they have 5 seconds to win it back through counter-pressing. If the press succeeds, play continues. If not, the team that lost the ball does a forfeit. Objective: immediate reaction to loss of possession.

Immediate reaction to loss of possession: nearest player presses, others close down space. Timing and intensity of the counter-press. The team learns to act as a unit after losing the ball.
