4v3 - football drill

Translated from Finnish ·

Finishing, Passing, Possession

Description

The 4v3 situation starts when the central midfielder plays to the attacker and, on the coach’s call of "Man on" or "Turn", the situation moves forward. Man on = set the ball, then either dribbling forward or a pass out wide. Turn = free turn and decision-making, pass or dribble If the drill is easy, add a pass restriction before finishing.

Quality Factors

1) Keep yourself free (move away from the opponent, deceive them) 2) Do not stand in the passing shadow, keep yourself visible. 3) Can the player on the ball play to you, where do you move? 4) Is the player on the ball under pressure, where do you offer support, how?

Key Questions

  • 1) How do you act if the wing/channel is blocked, how do you create new space?
  • 2) How do I act if the player on the ball is under heavy pressure
