The situation starts with a sideways pass from one queue to the other. The diagonal attacker (orange) moves away to the side from the defender and looks to shoot immediately after the control. In the second variation, the attacker's movement is to the inside of the defender.

Quality Factors

Timing of moving away, first touch in the shooting direction, sharp movement away from the defender, shooting choice, weight and accuracy of the pass, body position when receiving the ball.

• When do you start your movement — before the pass or during the pass?
• Which side of the defender do you move away to and why?
• In which direction is the first touch so that you can shoot straight away?
• How do you read the goalkeeper's positioning before shooting?
