passing, first_touch
Two players stand still 15-20 meters apart, with markers in front of their feet. The third player works between them. One ball. The player on the right plays a short pass to the middle player, who comes to meet it, and the middle player returns the ball. Immediately after, the same player plays a long pass to the other end. The middle player does not stay on the passing line but sidesteps and starts running to the other flank. There, the same sequence is repeated: a short pass to the middle player, a return, and then a long pass back. So there are three passes in the rotation: short in, return, and long transfer. The middle player's job is to get to the ball before it arrives and get out of the way before the long pass. Change the middle player approximately every minute.
Movement to meet the ball before the short pass, no waiting in place. Return to the same foot from which the pass came. For the long pass, a longer follow-through and a harder strike, with the support foot still behind the ball.
What changes when the pass is short compared to a long one?
