1v1 to goal — Football Drill

1v1, dribbling, defending

The exercise starts with a defender's pass, and after gaining possession, the attacker tries to dribble to either goal. The defender attempts to steal the ball and dribble to the opposite goal. An additional phase can be added to the exercise, where after the first situation ends, the coach adds a new ball and the attacker must start moving with their back towards the goals.

1v1 to goal - football drill

For the attacker: - Lift your head before touching the ball — which goal is open? - Feint before passing, keeping the ball protected behind your body - Change of rhythm: slow down–accelerate to break the defender's balance - Make a quick decision: pass 1-on-1 or change direction to the other goal For the defender: - Brake 1–2 meters away, low stance, center of gravity down - Lateral steps, no crossing - After stealing the ball, immediately lift your head and take the first touch forward towards the opposite goal

For the attacker: - When do you accelerate, when do you slow down? - How do you protect the ball from the defender? - What triggers a feint — the defender's position or distance? For the defender: - How do you approach so that you don't stay too far away or get too close? - To which side do you guide the attacker and why? - What needs to change when the attacker is facing away?
